The Hunger Games has certainly been an influential force in popular culture in the past year, and that’s why it should be no surprise that two people closely connected to the series are in the running for the TIME 100.
Author Suzanne Collins and actress Jennifer Lawrence are both in the running in an online poll to be included in this year’s TIME 100 list. The list every year features people considered to be the most influential in the year.
Collins impact is undeniable, after written three of the most popular books in the world — as well as co-writing and co-producing The Hunger Games movie adaptation.
Lawrence first garnered international acclaim for her Academy Award-nominated performance in Winter’s Bone, before joining the cast of X-Men: First Class and being cast in the iconic (and coveted) role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games movie.
Voting in the online poll is open through April 6th. The winner will be included in the TIME 100 issue next month.
