The Voice finals are creeping around the corner. Next week, the top eight singers will face-off in the semi-finals. We already know that Chris Mann, Lindsey Pavao, Jermaine Paul and Erin Willett will represent Teams Christina and Blake respectively. But tonight, viewers learned which of the six remaining members of Teams Adam and Cee Lo would be competing in next week’s semi-finals. Who made it? Read on to find out….
Before the results began, Florence and the Machine kicked off the show with their single: “No Light, No Light.” The performance featured a powerful vocal performance from Florence Welch, superb dancers and the remaining members of Team Cee Lo, who backed up the English songbird.
After that impressive performance, it was time to get down to business as host Carson Daly revealed the fate of the members of Team Adam. America used their votes to save Tony Lucca while Katrina Parker and Mathai walked off the stage to prepare for their Save-Me performances. Team Cee Lo was next to learn their fate. Jamar Rogers received the most votes and was automatically sent in to the semi-finals, which left Juliet Simms and Cheesa to prepare their Save-Me songs.
Mathai was the first performer to hit the stage again. She tackled Carrie Underwood’s “Cowboy Casanova.” Her performance was all over the best and the nerves got to her. Mathai’s teammate Katrina Parker, who already had to sing for her life a couple of weeks ago, returned to the stage to sing her rendition of Pink’s “Perfect.” Blake and Christina stated that Katrina was the best singer on Adam’s team and the “Genie in the Bottle” singer stated that she was excited to hear original material.
It was time for Adam to make the difficult decision; Blake and Christina advised the Maroon 5 singer to save Katrina while the “Forget You” singer suggested with Mathai. After dragging on, he decided that to save Katrina from elimination and sent Mathai home.
Cheesa was the third artist to take the stage to sing a Save-Me song. Her selection was Kelly Clarkson’s “Already Gone.” At the beginning of her performance, her vocal were shaky but was able to deliver her signature high notes at the end of the performance. Adam, Blake and Christina stated that she encountered pitch problems. Juliet Simms closed the Save-Me round with her powerful rendition of Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn.”
At the end of the show, Blake and Christina advised the Lady Killer to take Juliet Simms to the semi-finals. He followed their recommendation and sent Juliet into the semi-finals while Cheesa was eliminated.
Next week, the Voice semi-finals begin and all four teams will face-off on Monday.
