Every weekend in Jacksonville is full of indoor and outdoor events as well as many opportunities to participate in charity events. This weekend is no exception.
Ride With Me for Autism
This charity bicycling event will raise funds for the Jessica Green Foundation. There are four challenge rides (100-62-29-10) plus a family fun ride. Afterwards there will be live music and lunch at the post-ride celebration. The event starts at Camp Milton Preserve.
Tour de Pain Extreme 10k
This is a series of three races (10k-5k-half marathon) over a 24-hour period that will be totaled to determine the winner. Presented by 1st Place Sports.
3rd Annual Setting the Pace for Peace Domestic Violence Awareness Walk
This is a 3.5 mile walk that is free, fun, and family-friendly, but with a serious message. The walk begins at 9am at Ed Austin Regional Park and is sponsored by Hubbard House.
A Brush With Nature
Plein air painting will abound at the Jacksonville Arboretum & Gardens in Arlington. Visitors can watch top landscape artists at work in a beautiful setting. There will be artists’ demonstrations and original pieces of art will be for sale.
Jax4Kids.com 4th Annual Summer Camp Expo
There will be a Free Family fun Zone with giveaways and discounts galore at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds and Expo Center. Admission, parking, and all activities are free!
Jacksonville Symphony Le Mer
Enjoy a night of music at the Times Union Center beginning at 8pm, featuring Fabio Mechetti as conductor and Antti Siirala at the piano.
The Franchise and Business Opportunities Expo
This Expo, to be held at the Prime Osborne Convention Center, will have representatives from many varied industries.
Epilepsy: Walk The Talk
This walk-a-thon fundraiser will be held at Memorial Park in Riverside beginning at 8am. There will be free T-shirts to those who raise at least $50. There will also be a live band, face painting a bounce house and more.
Mad Science Family Day/Blood Drive
Mad Science is raising funds for The Leukemia and Lymphoma society. On the scene will be a Kid Zone, raffles (including a Jaguars helmet autographed by Maurice Jones Drew), vendors, and a blood drive.
Saturday and Sunday
Old Town Art and Craft Show
This juried art and fine craft show at Francis Field will features artists from St, Augustine and around the country. From jewelry and pottery to hand-woven fashions and glassware, there will be a large variety of items on display. Admission is free.
The Mikado” by the UNF Opera & Orchestra
“The Mikado”, a comic opera in two acts by Gilbert and Sullivan, will be presented in Lazzara Performance Hall at 7:30pm on Saturday and 3pm on Sunday. Adults are $18; UNF students are free with an ID.
Young Concert Artists Series
The Jewish Community Alliance will present a free performance by pianist Benjamin Moser, winner of the Sander Buchman First Prize of the 200t Young concert Artists International Auditions.
