Everyone experiences a lagging libido from time to time due to factors such as stress, exhaustion, even boredom. Superfoods that make us feel Super-sexy:
Garlic and Basil – I’ve paired these two foods together because they both are key ingredients in Italian food. It is no wonder the Italians have such spicy sex lives, eh? Garlic contains allicin which improves blood flow to the sexual organs, and Basil is great for circulation, boosts both fertility and stamina, and also is a ‘feel good’ herb that can help a person feel a euphoric sense of well-being that only enhances sex. Chile peppers – Oh yes! Chile peppers contain Capsaicin which is basically natural aspirin. It’s a pain-killer. So when someone eats chillies often, they feel good, and when they feel good, they want to be active, and what better activity than sex?
Go bananas! – Yes, bananas are an awesome superfood to enhance male libido. Nature’s little snack contains Bromelain which is good for sexual health, and B vitamins for energy. Exercises that build ‘sexy’ muscles!
For the boys: There are some exercises that men can do to build their stamina in the sack. These moves increase testosterone production. Begin with squats, bench presses, and/or chin lifts. Hint: Squats and lunges help increase the blood flow to the penis, so don’t ignore your legs, guys! (and ladies, when you see those men in the gym with great upper bodies and spindly chicken legs, keep walking!) Follow with some cardio to build endurance. Some of these can be combined in a little kick-boxing training, but here’s the important part. Keep your workouts under 40 minutes because while the first 30-40 minutes helps the body increase levels of testosterone, going over that amount makes the body begin to over-produce cortisol which is the chemical the body releases in reaction to stress. Cortisol increases belly fat, and it will lower those testosterone levels, countering all the good work done in the first 30-40 minutes.
Ladies, try yoga. Yoga is a meditative-style exercise that has long been known to increase blood flow, flexibility, and energy levels. For those who are not into yoga, cardio and light weight lifting will also do the trick. Try walking 30 minutes a day followed by working arms and legs with hand weights, and lunges and squats.
Kegels! Another important exercise for women (one they always forget about) is doing kegels! “”Kegels” are exercises that involve repeatedly squeezing the pelvic floor. This is also the muscle that helps you hold in urine. The Kegel exercise can help increase your sex drive by creating sexual energy flow and increasing muscle tone in the pelvic floor. In women, Kegels help to strengthen the muscles of the vagina and have stronger orgasm. One key element to be combined with exercises for both men and women is to make sure you get enough sleep. Experts recommend 7-9 hours a night. It takes that long for the body to do all the magical things it does to repair itself. It is during REM sleep that the body performs reparitive maintenance on itself much like how a computer system must be taken offline to clean files and delete viruses. Everyone knows that when a computer doesn’t have its daily maintenance, it runs slow and eventually freezes up; so does your body without proper sleep.
Easy Reflexology to increase the sex drive:
There’s a ‘handy’ little trick men and women can do to naturally increase libido and energize themselves. On the outer sides of the wrist are pressure points that are directly ‘wired’ to the sexual organs (uterus, ovaries, testicles). Wrap the fingers of one hand around the wrist of the other and twists back and forth gently. Do this for about 30 seconds a day to naturally stimulate those organs. For fun, try this with your partner and rub each other’s wrists. This adds a double bonus by adding a little touching and hand-holding to the act which helps strengthen the bond between couples.
