On Friday March 30th, 2012 and various Fridays throughout the Spring and Summer Season Toronto’s musicians and vocalists will be featured at The Official Retro Karaoke Night organized by Musician / Vocalist / Radio DJ Hostess Empress Arlanna (Mrs. Arlanna Alie, who is also the promoter and planner of events at the Toronto Police Association Banquet Hall Conference Centre, www.ARLANNA.com).
March 30th, starting 8pm: Happy Hour followed by 9pm Karaoke at THE BAR WITH NO NAME (www.TheBarWithNoName.ca) 1651 Bloor St. (just East of Keele)! Open mic’ vocalists will be paying TRIBUTES to late, great, legendary, award-winning vocalists: Whitney Houston, Etta James, Don SOUL TRAIN Cornelius, Heavy D, Amy Winehouse, Luther Vandross, Isaac Hayes and Michael Jackson! Inspirational ballads by Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley will be added to the musical mix, by Canada’s renowned vocalist: Martin Chan (www.Martin-Chan.com). Toronto’s ‘Superman’ Jack (www.JackGarson.com) will be singing many more CLASSICS on that night, in addition to Nova Scotia’s prestigious vocalist Shelley Hamilton (www.ShelleyHamilton.ca) who was also featured on a 2003 Juno Award-winning album! Keyboardist Andrew Williams will accompany Empress Arlanna during happy hour from 8pm, then karaoke singers will make appearances at the venue! This event is open to tourists and the entire city of Toronto. Other special guests will include the Extraordinary Steel Pannist Earl La Pierre Jr. (www.ESPjr.com), keyboardist Ya-Is-Banner and story-teller/vocalist Jnteé. Hameed Shaqq, The Pan Piper of Toronto (www.thepaniper.com) will also play his renditions on steel pan.
Music will be played, throughout the evening, by Toronto’s Professional Choice: DJ GLEN C (www.djglenc.com). Patrons are welcomed to stay onward to dance or ‘mix and mingle’!
