Spring is definitely in the air here in Ohio. The weather has been perfect and all living things have become active once more. Driving down the road, you may notice the new buds on the trees or the colors of the spring flowers. Spring is my favorite time of the year.
Each of us has certain aspects in nature that we love more than others. Some may be freightened of thunderstorms, while others (like me) find storms powerful yet calming and race outside to watch them. You may love the glistening of snow on a brisk winter morning or the feeling of the warm sun on your shoulders in the summer. All of us find certain things in nature that we love.
By far, one of my favorite things in nature is the mighty Willow tree. I guess you could say that it has become my signature.
The Weeping Willow is extremely fast growing, provides shade on a hot summer day, can be used for erosion prevention, are adaptive, and may be used for furniture and medicinal purposes. The Weeping Willow is graceful in a way that it moves in a gentle breeze. It is romantic, peaceful, calming, and a bit romantic.
To me, the Weeping Willow has become a symbol of strength. During a storm, the Willow will whip it’s branches. It will bend, but will not break. It may lose some of it’s leaves, but is hard to take down.
