On a night when most shows were down, American Idol held steady for Fox, coming in second in the 18-49 demographic and first in total viewers. Close to 16 million people tuned in to see who was eliminated this week. Touch, however, dropped substantially after a decent regular season debut last week.
CBS’s schedule returned to normal after two weeks of March Madness. The Big Bang Theory won the night in the 18-49 demographic, but it was at a season low for the popular comedy. Rules of Engagement returned after being bumped by Rob. It was slightly higher than it’s last new episode and performed better than the last new episode of Rob. Person of Interest and The Mentalist were both down as well, but they each easily won their respective time slots.
In the 7:00 (CST) hour, Community and 30 Rock held steady. NBC struggled the rest of the night. The Office was a repeat, but Up All Night and Awake both hit series/season lows.
ABC was in repeats with the exception of a new episode of Missing. What this show is really missing is viewers as it continues to slide toward cancellation.
The CW was all new last night, but both The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle were at season lows.
