A man who was shot during a deadly drug transaction has been charged along with two others in the murder of a 25-year-old man in Sandy Springs, police said Wednesday.
On Thursday, they continued their search for a fourth suspect.
Mr. Patrick Placide was shot to death and Mr. Willy Jeanlouis was wounded on April 14 in the parking lot of an apartment complex near Jefferson Drive, according to Sandy Springs police.
Police have charged Mr. Gene Stephens, 19, of Atlanta, and Mr. James Taft, 28, of Sandy Springs with felony murder, spokesman Capt. Steve Rose said.
They are still searching for 24-year old Victor Scott for a similar charge, Capt. Rose said.
“Willy Jeanlouis has also been charged with felony murder for his role in setting up a deal to exchange marijuana which precipitated the shootings,” Capt. Rose said.
Investigators said the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. at the Residences at Morgan Falls Apartments, which is on Roswell Road just north of the Fulton Annex Building.
“Placide was dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to the head,” Capt. Rose said. “Jeanlouis, who was shot once in the head but escaped, was treated and later released from North Fulton Hospital.”
Mr. Jeanlouis was then taken to police department where he spoke to detectives, Capt. Rose said.
All three suspects were being held without bond in the Fulton County Jail. They are scheduled to appear in court at 9:30 a.m. on April 30.
