The Vampire Diaries‘ third season’s still got three episodes left, and the show has not been officially renewed for a fourth season (though it’s considered “safe” by many) just yet, but already Executive Producer Julie Plec has been talking about it.
Speaking to MTV Hollywood Crush in a Q&A, she explained that she and fellow producer Kevin Williamson have the entire series mapped out in their minds.
“Kevin and I came up with our end plan, sitting in the mall lobby of the W Midtown in Atlanta on a Sunday early in season two . . . We were tired, and stressed, and talked about the last moment of the show, the last character moments of the show, and both started to cry in the middle of the mall. We just felt like that was right. And so, assuming that he and I are both around…assuming that he and I are lucky enough to survive into season 20…then yeah. We know how we want it to end,” she explained.
“We’ve already started talking about season four . . . As they’re all going through some pretty extraordinary changes in their own emotional lives, personal lives, romantic lives, and supernatural lives. They are making decisions about their future, and what that will bring.”
Season three’s finale episode has everyone talking about where it will land the main characters from the show, especially after TV Guide posted the vexing statement that “two main characters will be in grave danger and both will come out a bit ‘different’ on the other side of their traumas.”
No doubt, in classic Vampire Diaries fashion, the finale will open and shut a lot of doors for season four. Any predictions?
