A small but vigorous storm will move eastward into the Ohio Valley today. Cold temperatures this morning will quickly rebound this afternoon ahead of this system. Moisture will also increase significantly today as the system approaches. Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to break out across the Akron area this afternoon. A few of the storms could be severe with damaging winds, large hail, and even an isolated tornado possible. High temperatures in Akron will be in the mid to upper 50s.
Strong thunderstorms will continue through this evening, with rain showers persisting overnight. There is a slight chance for a little wet snow to mix with the rain across the higher terrain north and east of Akron late tonight. Overnight lows will be in the mid to upper 30s.
Saturday will be mostly cloudy during the morning with a gradual decrease in cloud cover expected during the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 50s.
A warm front will lift northward across the area on Sunday bringing milder temperatures and a threat of thunderstorms. Highs on Sunday will top out around 70 degrees.
