Continued from the previous article on What do bunnies, eggs, and easter have to do with the resurrection? “Also popular among Europeans and Americans on Easter is ham, because the pig was considered a symbol of luck in pre-Christian European culture” (The Encyclopedia of Religion, 1987, “Easter”). God tells us that the pig is unclean. (Deut. 14:8)”
A quote from: www.goddessgift.com/Pandora’s_Box/Easter-history.htm
- “The meat that is traditionally associated with Easter is ham. Though some might argue that ham is served at Easter since it is a “Christian” meat, (prohibited for others by the religious laws of Judaism and Islam) the origin probably lies in the early practices of the pagans of Northern Europe.
- Having slaughtered and preserved the meat of their agricultural animals during the Blood Moon celebrations the previous autumn so they would have food throughout the winter months, they would celebrate the occasion by using up the last of the remaining cured meats.”
Regardless of when the tradition began; what we do know however is that pig meat or swine is forbidden by God to eat, therefore it is dubious why they call it a “Christian” meat.
- Leviticus 11:7-8: “…and the swine, though it divides the hoof, having cloven hooves, yet does not chew the cud, [is] unclean to you. Their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall not touch. They [are] unclean to you.”
Eating pork can also be hazardous to your health. And even today there are some doctors who tell people who are sick to stop eating pork.
- Trichinosis – from Encarta Encyclopaedia
“Pronounced As: trikinosis or trichiniasis trikinisis, parasitic disease caused by the roundworm Trichinella spiralis. It follows the eating of raw or inadequately cooked meat, especially pork. The larvae are released, reach maturity, and mate in the intestines, the females producing live larvae.”
This is just one of the parasites that people who consume pork products often usually have and don’t know it! Read much more here.
Pork, pork chops, ribs, ham, bacon, pepperoni, sausage, Chitterlings (chitlins), all are by- products of pigs and since God was the Creator of all things He had a purpose for everything that He created. We will examine a few of the reasons that God said that pig meat or swine was unclean and shouldn’t be eaten.
God created pigs to be scavengers to keep the land clean. Everyone seems to know that they are notorious for eating anything, including their own waste and garbage. They eat sick and infected animals, including their own piglets that die from disease. With the quickest and poorest digestive systems of any animal the average pig digests its food completely in four hours! Because of this fast processing, many times the toxins aren’t removed and are stored in the fat of the pig.
A quote from www.newswithviews.com/Ciola/greg8.htm says, “A doctor that I know personally says that pig fat is the best medium there is for cancer growth.”
