Many Americans frequent fast food restaurants and eat microwavable instant meals. They also feed this to their children. In a fast driven society, this would seem like the best thing to do. Yet, you really spend more money for products that 99% of the time are not real food and you deplete yourself and your family of nutrients.
The fast food industry and many foods in the national supermarkets always advertise how delicious and cheap their products are. However, they leave out the fact that what they are really offering are chemicals, genetically coded produce, and inedible materials.
Beef eaters beware because if you purchase your meat in major supermarket chains, you most likely are purchasing ‘Pink Slime’. ‘Pink Slime’ is a filler for real beef that is made up of animal waste trimmings that is naturally filled with toxins and sprayed with ammonia to kill the bacteria. Once tossed out or used in dog food, it has now been used to cut the cost for meat distributors. They hide the truth and make you think that it is the same beef that has been in the markets for years. Since the USDA passed the ‘Pink Slime’ as meat, supermarkets and meat suppliers do not have to tell you that this substance has been added.
Some companies such as: Campbell’s, PepsiCo, Kraft Foods, Solae, Nestle, Ajinomoto, and Firmenich all have gone as far as using human embryonic kidney cells to enhance the flavors of their foods. Senomyx, a bio-tech company used voluntarily aborted embryos and took their kidney cells to produce the artificial flavoring also known as HEK 293. These companies joined Senomyx and agreed to use their product.
Companies such as these can not be trusted with the health of our children and the future of our food system. This presence of HEK 293 in these food products were not openly shared with the public. Everything was disguised until they were found out. Companies such as these like to do things to get us ‘hooked’ on their products so that we will continue to purchase them. For them, it is all about the money. They have no concern about the future and health of this planet and the ones who live on it.
Know what you are eating and feeding your children. We have to utilize what is natural to keep our families healthy. We have to protect our children from chemicals, pesticides, and genetically altered food that in the long run alters the health of our children. It may seem easier to go through the drive-thru at your local fast food, however, it is much simpler and cheaper to cook your own food. Cooking your own food, that you have hand selected from the health food store, gives you peace of mind and saves money because the meals will stretch further. Note: Always check the ingredients.
Go organic and try these local Atlanta health food stores and see the difference: Sevenanda, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s. You will taste the difference in the food and in time see how you and your family’s health improve.
