The WWE has a Wellness Program for a reason, to keep their superstars away from illegal substances. They have this program to do their part in keeping their talent on the straight and narrow. But there is only so much that the company can do in regards to this issue.
When I see that another superstar has been suspended for using illegal substances, I wonder what is wrong with these people. They have the career of their dreams, travel the world, are admired by millions, and throw it all away for a fix they thought was more important.
Most recently we have seen Evan Bourne suspended twice in a span of two months. Now we see that an injured superstar has been suspended for his second violation. This superstar is none other than the man that is idolized by many young WWE fans around the world, Rey Mysterio.
“In accordance with its Talent Wellness Program, WWE has suspended Oscar Gutierrez (Rey Mysterio) for 60 days effective Thursday, April 26 for his second violation of the company’s policy.”
According to an article written by PWInsider.com two months ago, there has been a building of tension between Mysterio and the WWE. This tension is said to have been caused by his continuous injuries and difficult negotiations. You have to wonder if this is going to make things worse for Rey and if he will ever be seen in the ring again?
As we have witnessed in the past there has been some superstars that have made it past the “Three Strikes You’re Out” rule that the WWE has. In my opinion Mysterio, like the others is old enough to know that what he is doing is wrong. Obviously, he did not care that he was a role model to young children. He should be let go unless he can straighten up and fly right.
