Caleb Laieski, 17, of Phoenix, Arizona has taken the next step to ensure that youth are safe and listened to. In March 2012, he was hired by Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton to become the Youth and Diversity Liaison.
Caleb has a long history working with community leaders and elected officials to tackle the issue of bullying. Last year, he made the trek all the way to Washington, DC to meet with over 200 officials in support of the Student Non-Discrimination Act. He was later invited to the first-ever White House Conference on Bullying Prevention.
Phoenix is America’s sixth largest city and sits in the heart of the American southwest. Now that youth have a direct connection to the Mayor’s office in one of the country’s largest cities to address and resolve a variety of concerns, the positive affect will certainly be felt nationally!
The City of Phoenix made a wise choice and will be in good hands.
